I’m Unish Baral, born on November 15, 1999, in the beautiful city of Kathmandu, Nepal. My family has always been my foundation—my father, mother, elder sister, and I make up our small, close-knit unit. Growing up in Kathmandu, I was deeply influenced by my Nepalese heritage and culture, which has shaped my outlook on life and business.Early Life and EducationI began my educational journey at Modern Indian School, where I first developed a love for learning and creativity. Later, I attended the American GED Center for high school, which gave me a broader perspective on the world and helped me sharpen my critical thinking skills. I then pursued my Bachelor’s degree at the International Institute of Management Science, where I started focusing on my passion for business and entrepreneurship.Formative Experiences and Career PathDuring my college years, I sought out real-world experience through internships at two renowned five-star hotels in Kathmandu—The Malla Hotel and Hotel Manaslu. Working as a front office assistant, I gained valuable insights into the hospitality industry, customer service, and business operations. It was there that I learned the importance of attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to connect with people—skills that would prove essential in my future ventures.Building My Business: Pumpkin ClosetDriven by my entrepreneurial spirit, I decided to take the plunge and launch my own clothing brand, Pumpkin Closet. My brand started as an online business and later expanded to a physical store. Fashion has always been a passion of mine, and with Pumpkin Closet, I’ve been able to combine my love for style with my desire to create something meaningful. The brand represents modern trends, comfort, and individuality, and it has resonated with many people who appreciate quality and design.Hobbies, Interests, and BeliefsOutside of my business, I have a few personal passions that help me grow and recharge. I’m an avid listener of audiobooks, always exploring topics ranging from self-help to philosophy. This habit keeps me learning and growing, both as a person and as an entrepreneur. I also love mountain hiking, which allows me to connect with nature and challenge myself both mentally and physically. One of the guiding philosophies in my life is karma—the belief that our actions have consequences, whether in this life or in future lives. I try to live with integrity, kindness, and responsibility, knowing that the energy we put into the world comes back in one way or another.Current Activities and Future PlansAt the moment, I’m juggling multiple projects. Aside from running Pumpkin Closet, I’m also building my YouTube channel, Flourish and Fuel. On this platform, I share my thoughts on business, personal growth, and life’s challenges. It’s a place where I hope to inspire and motivate others to pursue their passions and live a balanced life.I’m also pursuing my MBA to continue expanding my knowledge of business management and entrepreneurship. My goal is to grow my business, expand my creative endeavors, and continue learning and evolving as both a professional and a person.Looking ForwardThe journey I’ve been on so far has been nothing short of amazing, but I know it’s just the beginning. With my clothing brand, my YouTube channel, and my MBA studies, I’m constantly working to grow, evolve, and make a positive impact in the world. As I look to the future, I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead. My vision is clear: to continue building a life full of purpose, creativity, and success—while inspiring others along the way.

Growing up in the kitchen, I learned early on that hospitality is more than a profession—it's a way of life. From the clatter of plates to the hum of a busy dining room, I’ve seen how the long hours, relentless pace, and emotional toll that come with serving others. But I’ve also seen the strength, resilience, and heart of the people who make it all possible. After years in the industry, I realized something was missing—a support system for the very workers who hold this industry together. That’s why I founded ???????????????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????????????: ????????????????????, a nonprofit dedicated to providing mental health resources, peer support, and training tailored to hospitality workers. Our mission is simple: to make the hospitality industry truly hospitable, not just for guests but for the people behind the scenes. My passion for creating a Culture of Care extends beyond my nonprofit work. I’m honored to collaborate with initiatives like ???????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????? and ???????????????? - ???????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????, which align with my mission to challenge mental health stigma and provide critical resources for hospitality workers. Through workshops, training programs, and partnerships, I’ve witnessed the transformative power of community and the impact we can make when we stand together. With over a decade of experience in hospitality roles and leadership, I’ve made it my purpose to foster empathy, authenticity, and collaboration in everything I do. Whether it’s through wellness programs, resilience training, or advocating for systemic change, I believe we can create an industry where workers not only survive but thrive. If you’re passionate about supporting the people who make hospitality possible, let’s connect. Whether you’re looking to collaborate, volunteer, or simply learn more about how we can uplift hospitality workers, I’d love to hear from you. Together, we can make this industry a healthier, happier place fhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/nio-dipietrantonio or everyone.

With over four decades of experience in maritime operations, I have navigated the evolving complexities of both sea and port environments—from commanding tanker vessels to overseeing one of Pakistan’s most critical marine facilities. My deep-rooted engagement with operational safety, emergency response, and LNG risk mitigation has motivated me to pursue a PhD in Risk Management. This academic endeavor will allow me to formalize and expand upon my practical knowledge, contribute to the advancement of industry standards, and play a vital role in shaping safer maritime infrastructures for the future. In March 2015, I had the privilege of managing all risks associated with berthing the first-ever LNG carrier (LNGC) at Port Qasim—a high-stakes operation that required precise coordination, in-depth hazard assessment, and decisive leadership. Following this achievement, I was appointed as the first Deputy Harbour Master in the port’s history. Since then, I have handled over 400 LNG carriers, including MOSS and Q-FLEX types, while also contributing to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specific to LNGC handling. Notably, I led the emergency response for two engine failure incidents, ensuring the safety of both port operations and personnel. This focus on LNG operations—especially within a port context—has exposed me to the multidimensional nature of risk in maritime logistics, encompassing not only technical and operational hazards but also policy, environmental, and stakeholder coordination risks. These experiences have instilled in me a desire to deepen my understanding of structured risk frameworks, predictive modeling, and resilience-building mechanisms. My academic background includes an MPA and BPA from Karachi University, a diploma in port management from NorthWest Kent College (UK), and an advanced diploma in marine consultancy and survey from Lloyd Institute of London (2024–25). These academic credentials have complemented my operational roles, including my tenure as Harbour Master and, most recently, as Director of Marine Operations at Port Qasim Authority.Pursuing a PhD will empower me to synthesize practice with theory, using my extensive field experience to conduct applied research that improves risk assessment methodologies in LNG terminals and port operations globally. I am particularly interested in exploring integrated risk models for energy ports, incident response planning, and infrastructure risk simulation—areas critical for ensuring sustainable and secure maritime trade. In conclusion, I bring to this program not only a wealth of professional experience but a genuine academic curiosity and commitment to innovation in risk management. I look forward to contributing meaningfully to the academic community and driving impactful change in global port safety standards.

Graduate SchoolAdmission OfficeAtlanta College of Liberal Arts and SciencesHonorable Committee for the Doctorate Program in Business Administration (DBA)Dear Sir, Madam,My name is Sherif Wahba and I have a bachelor degree in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo and I am also a graduate of the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA with a master’s degree in Computer Science with High honors. I am writing to apply for the Doctorate degree in Business Administration (DBA) at Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. During my studies, I have gained extensive knowledge and experience through surveying a vast array of courses during my coursework in universities along with my long teaching experience at university level provides me with the necessary experience to pursue my Doctorate degree  in Business Administration I have published my master’s thesis entitled “A Framework for Mining Open Software Data”. Throughout my thesis, I concentrated on Open source software (OSS) which gained a reputation for reliability, efficiency, functionality that surprised many people in the software engineering world. In fact every researcher has access to an open software package freely, often through an online website, and in addition the portal posts free and detailed open source formats of code accompanied by design documentation and as well as support lists for contributors and developers. Some projects have project process information like bug logs, test logs, and other details. Valuable data can be extracted from this data for comparative research and for further insight into the open software process. My published master thesis introduces a framework for mining open source software data, utilizing decision trees in analyzing and classifying the data, focusing on one of the largest open source hosting websites, sourceforge.net. The results from the mining process have enabled an insight into the distribution of code sizes, dynamic variation of code sizes, and distribution of stable developers among projects which helped developers to make decisions to classify data more clearly and succinctly.  Thanks to the prompt progress of my bachelor and master’s degree, it is in my capacity to do further studying and perform more research endeavors. My diverse studies during the bachelor degree and master’s degree enlarged my scope and gave me the opportunity to think more profoundly into having a doctorate degree in business administration as I would like to contribute to Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with my extensive research into the field of marketing, a field that I admire as I consider it the cornerstone of every aspect of our life. In addition I have excellent experience in teaching, tutoring and academic research which gives me a solid ground to pursue further research into throughout my Doctorate degree in business administration.I believe that the process of becoming a leading expert and researcher in the field of Business Administration doesn’t happen overnight. I strongly believe that anchoring oneself as a pioneering research leader in the Business and marketing field takes years of education, hard work, and participation in groundbreaking research. Also, I believe that earning a doctorate degree in Business Administration is my first step to becoming a top professional in a fast-paced and ever-changing field. I also believe that even if one sharpens his skills through years of professional experience, a Doctorate degree program will even expose me to a greater range of data analysis and interpretation techniques. These research skills, coupled with teaching techniques imparted by the best academia and strengthened through the best teaching styles by our honorable professors at Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences , will help me to reach my full potential as a capable researcher or professor.I am a very diligent and highly motivated student, while studying for my bachelor degree and my master’s degree; I did not fail any exam or fail to turn in any due assignment. I am certain to push through with the dedication as I have always worked hard to accomplish my goals and gained more knowledge and insight into preparing myself to perform marketing research as I developed deep interest in marketing through reading different books and participating in many different workshops.I understand that there are two approaches in the field of marketing for example in Business Administration, the first approach deals with the quantitative approach where researchers mostly specialize in empirical work on secondary data sets like scanner panel data, financial market data, data abandoned from the internet as well as some analytical and theoretical models. The second approach in the field of marketing is the behavioral approach where companies target customers based on behavior, interests and intentions including their geographical location and using other metrics together with web analytics, cookies, search history and other insights. By trying to segment customers based on specific behavior or definitive user profiles, companies can provide truly relevant content and offer to satisfy customers. In my study and  research approach through my doctorate degree in Business Administration, I would like to investigate for example the role of customer trust, perceived service quality and customer satisfaction pertaining to e-services and also try to find out more about the impact of trust on the relationship between e-service quality and customer satisfaction.  In addition, I would like to analyze the process of purchasing from online business, and to find out more about the relationship between the role of service quality and quality improvement in winning customer loyalty and retaining them. Furthermore, during my research, I would like to engage in techniques to discover how improving service quality can lead to an increase in customer satisfaction within an online business context, which results in business perseverance as well as acquiring more customers. Also, in my research project, I would like to investigate the impact of e-service quality and the reaction of a company to a service failure and customer loyalty in online stores. My  study and research topic will encompass aspects of customer revenge and betrayal and why customers lose trust in buying again from the same business. I would also like to find out about the role of successful after sales service and role of following up after purchase has been done by connecting with customers and getting their opinion which in turn can prevent to a great extent customer revenge and betrayal. I would also like to find out about how companies manage the rising threat of losing trust. My research topic will also include a framework to understand how companies are able to decipher the best ways to respond, and to prevent complaints from recurring so that they cannot lose customers. In fact, understanding customer behavior is a key issue to finding out about customer trust and the perceived service quality as it is a broad and complicated task, but I believe given the right research approach in hand and the tools that will be given to me at Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences , I believe that I can be able to reach a detailed understanding on how and why customers behave differently and the main reasons behind customers losing trust in the product and thus losing trust in the company afterwards which ultimately leads customers to complain. Also I would like to have deeper insight into the motivation of customers behind complaining and to what extent of satisfaction, customers might gain from complaining.I believe that customer behavior in regards to betrayal does not emanate simply from severe dissatisfaction. Aside from dissatisfaction, betrayal may be associated with anger, which results in a strong negative response which in turn motivates customers to respond strongly. On the other hand, dissatisfaction may be directly connected to frustration and annoyance, and these are negative emotions that tend to have their effect in short-term fashion and they result in more passive actions, like exiting the relationship and avoidance of purchase. But feelings of betrayal can lead customers to persist in their demands for compensation and, if that fails to satisfy them, customers engage in vengeful behaviors, such as online public complaining, against the company.Through my Ph.D. research, I am also interested in understanding the Influence of Consumer Behavior on many aspects. I believe that consumer behavior is not merely  the study of individuals and organizations and how they select and  use products and services, but it is also mainly concerned with  the psychology, motivations, and behavior of individuals and I am interested to perform an extensive research on the study of consumer behavior which  includes, how consumers think and feel about different alternatives  like brands, products, services, and also retailers and how consumers reason and select between different alternatives, plus  the behavior of consumers while  shopping especially online and  how  consumer behavior is influenced by their environment like peer pressure, culture attachment and media effect and discover how marketing campaigns can be adapted and improved to more effectively influence consumer behavior and the tendency to react in particular manner. I believe that consumer behavior is highly influenced by personal factors like a person's interests and opinions. These personal factors are also affected by age, gender, culture, profession and background of the person. Also, some psychological factors have an effect on consumer behavior like having a specific response to a particular marketing campaign as it will greatly differ for some people than others as it will be based on individual perceptions, preferences and attitudes. A person’s ability to comprehend information, and his unique perception taking into consideration one’s own needs and attitudes, will also play a part in the response and will be the target of my research. Also some social factors like peer groups as in family, friends and social media can potentially influence consumer behavior and their response taking in consideration the social class, income, and education level. As part of my research, I will have the opportunity to make use of data and utilize researching methods and collect consumer behavior data to try to understand consumer response and analyze them to find out a common ground to establish a theory using the data analysis in order to come up with a conclusion regarding why consumers behave in certain pattern and what influences them. In my research, I will try to establish new frameworks in regards to relationship marketing and will try to gather data and implement ways by which one can provide customers with more meaningful and personalized customer experiences, hence companies are able to develop closer, longer-lasting ties with their customers. Not only does this encourage customers to keep coming back and hence increasing customer lifetime value, but it also improves the reputation of the company. A closer customer relationship helps the company in identifying the type of experiences, products and services that customers truly desire. As the motivations that influence customer behavior are so wide, a mixture of research including a variety of data will be the most robust way to perform a systematic analysis about customer behavior.  In my research, I will try to look at all possible means where customers perform feedback and response so that I can understand their behavior more clearly. I will try to deal with various means of customer behavior, sources of data like Customer Reviews which can highlight common problems or wishes, but it also can be biased because it sometimes focuses on certain issues and ignores the rest. Another type of customer behavior data is Q&A sites and these sites can give me an idea about the questions and concerns that people have in relation to the marketed brand, service or product.  Another type of customer behavior data which is worth noticing is to look at surveys like online surveys which can be easily set up with sites like Survey Monkey that allows people to ask specific questions. Another type of research method technique is to concentrate on Focus groups and this includes gathering a group of customers together and asking them questions directly trying to infer from them the answer to many of the target questions, but the focus group can also be biased and should be chosen from many selective categories to guarantee fairness.  Keyword research is also a very important tool as it is considered the pillar of site search optimization as keyword research can tell more about what consumers are interested in and the relative level of interest. It also helps to reveal the language they are using. By matching the keyword frequency for every target consumer with the type of language we are to come with concrete data to predict customer behavior. Also Google Analytics can be used to tell more about where the traffic is coming from.I can work with Professor Yany Grégoire because he specializes in online public complaining, relationship marketing, service failure and recovery and also ,marketing strategy. I can also work with Professor Dr Renaud Legoux because his specialty is also close to my research interest which includes Consumer behavior, Customer satisfaction. I am also able to work with. Dr. Sylvain Sénécal as he specializes in Internet marketing and online consumer behavior. I can also work with Marcelo Vinhal Nepomuceno as he specialized Cross-cultural Marketing in Social Media and Consumer Behavior and Consumer Resistance. As my candidacy shows, I have had opportunities to conduct a variety of research projects during my graduate studies, including data mining method investigations. I have also worked as a teacher for undergraduate students, a position that involved instruction, teaching and tutoring on various subject matters in Computer Science. Among the most satisfying experiences for me as a teacher has been instructing students on an individual basis as a tutor in their major subjects and mentoring them to help them write their graduating research projects. I believe that this kind of one to one interaction is very essential to their development as researchers and professionals and also helps to accomplish my continuous learning process. I used to get enthusiastic with their research ideas and at the present I am still working on and reading about the subjects they approached on their major graduation project.   Studying for the doctorate degree in Business administration at Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is my aspiration in order to gain deeper insight that will help me dedicate myself wholeheartedly as I will be able to contribute to the academic community in the best way I can. The high quality of research and study skills which I’ll receive fromAtlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will refine my skills. Combining all my abilities together with a serious passion for research will surely complement Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences impressive network of creative professionals. I am highly committed to deliver a fresh perspective, industry and academic experience, unclouded judgment and an open mind eager to absorb and apply the knowledge and experience of your talented academicians to benefit the field of marketing and future society. Considering my academic performance and my desire to enrich mine, I am convinced that I will be a valuable addition to the program. I hope to be given the chance to be accepted to the Doctorate program in Business administration at Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences  , as I am confident that I am capable of meeting and even exceeding expectations..I am confident that my academic records, experience, professional goals and my enthusiasm qualify me for consideration.Thank you very much for your time and consideration, I look forward to hearing from you.Sincerely, Sherif Fredy Fares Wahba
