Can I get an honorary doctor title after completing DBA?
Updated at Feb 6, 2026, Viewed 0 times
Honorary doctorate titles are special academic honors awarded by universities or institutions to recognize exceptional contributions to a specific field, profession, or society. They are not earned through traditional academic study, coursework, or research.

At ACLAS (The Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences), we currently do not offer honorary doctorate titles as part of our academic programs. All degrees, including the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), are earned through structured coursework, and academic performance under our accredited curriculum.

However, upon successful completion of your DBA program, you are fully entitled to use the “Dr.” title before your name, as you have completed an accredited academic doctorate through formal education and assessment.

This distinction represents your academic achievement and professional expertise, not an honorary recognition.
