Which documents can be apostilled?
Updated at Feb 6, 2026, Viewed 0 times
At Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (ACLAS), students can request Apostille certification for official academic documents that verify their educational achievements. Apostille certification ensures these documents are legally recognized and valid for international use under the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961.

Eligible Documents for Apostille Certification:

1. Degree Certificate - Confirms that you have successfully completed your program of study (e.g., MBA, MCS, DBA).
2. Academic Transcript - Provides a detailed record of your academic performance and courses completed during your studies.

Each Apostille is a government-authorized seal attached to your certified document, verifying its authenticity and legitimacy for international use.

Purpose of Apostille Certification

An Apostille confirms that:

  • Your academic documents are officially issued and verified by ACLAS.

    • They meet the international authentication standards required for use in over 120 Hague Convention member countries, including all 50 U.S. states.

    • They fulfill the legalization and authenticity requirements for foreign educational, employment, or immigration purposes.

For non-member countries, additional steps such as embassy attestation or legalization may be required to ensure full validity.
